Recently the sci-fi action film Terrordactyl was released on digital HD. The movie, directed by Don Bitters III and Geoff Reisner, and written by Bitters, follows friends Jonas, played by Jason Tobias, and Lars (Christopher John Jennings), who are ripped from their normal lives when they become the target of pterodactyls – extinct bird-like dinosaurs - after finding what they believe to be a meteorite.

Tobias, Bitters, and Reisner recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about Terrordactyl.

The Martian, based on the #1 New York Times best-selling novel by Andy Weir, follows a team of astronauts on a reconnaissance mission to Mars, when suddenly things go wrong when a storm threatens the safety of the team and they are forced to evacuate.

On the way to the return spacecraft, Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is struck by a satellite dish that gets caught up in the storm, and he is pulled away. Running out of time, with no communication or life signs coming from Watney, nor a way of finding his body, the crew is forced to evacuate without him, leaving him for dead.

Watney awakes to find himself stuck on Mars after the storm, injured, but well enough to operate on himself and eventually start planning on what his next step is for his survival.

Watney has no way to contact the team or Earth, and he knows that even if they do launch a rescue mission, it would take years. His best chance is to find a way to meet up with the next group that is scheduled on Mars. Regardless, he has to tackle his current predicament of not enough food, and currently nothing will grow on the planet.

SYFY RENEWS ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES ‘12 MONKEYS’ FOR THIRD SEASON

Series from Universal Cable Productions Currently Airing Mondays at 9/8c; Season 2 Finale July 18
 
LOS ANGELES – June 29, 2016 – Syfy has renewed its critically acclaimed drama series 12 MONKEYS for a 10-episode Season 3 order, with new episodes expected to air in 2017. From Universal Cable Productions, 12 MONKEYS is co-created by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (“Nikita”) and is based on the 1995 Oscar^® nominated and Golden Globe-winning film of the same name. Matalas serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Charles Roven (The Dark Knight trilogy, “Suicide Squad”) who produced the original film, and Richard Suckle (“Suicide Squad”, “American Hustle”) also serve as executive producers. Season 2 of the series currently airs on Monday nights at 9/8 c on Syfy.

Friday Syfy premieres season two of its returning series Dark Matter. The show follows the crew of the derelict spaceship, the Raza, who last season awoke from cryosleep with no memories of who they were or how they arrived on the ship. As the season went on they recovered some information, but many things are still unknown to them.

The main cast include Marc Bendavid as One, Melissa O'Neil as Two, Anthony Lemke as Three, Alex Mallari Jr. as Four, Jodelle Ferland as Five, Roger Cross as Six, and Zoe Palmer as The Android. Joining the team this season are also Melanie Liburd as Nyx and Shaun Sipos as Devon.

Tonight Syfy airs the season one finale of Wynonna Earp. Earlier in the week, Katherine Barrell, who plays Officer Nicole Haught, talked to the media about the season finale of the show, her character’s relationship with Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), and more.

Barrell talked to SciFi Vision about what she thinks would be Nicole’s perfect date, compared to what it would probably be like.

“I don't think they ever really get to a first date. I think they hang out at the homestead and stuff.

“But I think for Waverly and Nicole, I think they would have a lot of fun going to an amusement park. I could definitely see that being a really fun date for them, so I feel like if I was going to pick one thing for them, I would send them to an amusement park with roller coasters and cotton candy and the whole – well at least a fair if not a big amusement park. “
